A 1 shade will block 99 of the uv rays while a 14 will block 86 and so on the lower the percentage the tighter the weave and the less light will be let through. Open fabrics also let more light into the room. Premium solar shades 1 percent openness receive the greatest insulation and sunlight protection of all our premium solar shades.

Manufactured with ease of fabrication in mind this collection is a full basket weave of vinyl coated fiberglass yarn and are designed expressly for applications. These percentages range from 1 to 14. A 1 open solar shade will block 99 of the light and damaging uv rays. The more open a fabric is 10 is more open than 1 the easier you can see through it.

These shades come without cords making them child and pet safe. Each solar shade fabric has its own unique openness percentage. You will be able to see movement and shapes. Capable of blocking out 99 of uv rays these shades also allow clear viewing of the outside area while delivering maximum light and heat reduction for your home or business.

Solar shades come in different levels of opacity varying from 14 1 openness. A 10 open only blocks 90. Our 1 solar shades come equipped with a sewn in bottom rail but can be upgraded to an exposed or fabric wrapped bottom rail for an even more customized look and feel. Now what does that mean. They tell you the percentage of uv rays that are allowed through the fabric. It will be faint though and you will not have as clear a view as you get from shades with higher openness percentages.
