Wrx Power Steering Rack Leak

I drive a 2009 wrx no mods and noticed that i was leaking power steering fluid recently. I believe i ve located the leak and want opinions on what could be the culprit. The 2015 sti has the quickest steering ratio of any subaru product to date it s 13 1 compared to 15 1 on older wrx and sti models. A little troubleshooting and i discovered the source the leak is originating from the input shaft coming into the rack and pinion gearbox.

I m having trouble with my power steering on my 2004 wrx. If it is leaking power steering fluid then you ll find yourself finding it hard to steer in no time if you don t keep filling it up. I was told the power steering rack needs to be replaced 1200. Looks like this is a problem with wrx s and sti s.
